Best practices to reach more people
- YouTube is a search engine: research what your audience types and use those terms in the title and at the start of the description.
- Thumbnail and title work together. Promise a clear outcome and deliver on it in the first 30 seconds.
- Use Shorts to attract new viewers and long-form videos to build authority and convert.
- Split long videos into chapters in the description (00:00 Intro...): it improves retention and shows up in Google search.
- Publish on fixed days and times so your audience gets in the habit of coming back to your channel.
- Ask viewers to subscribe right after you've delivered value, not at the very start of the video.
